Galleryeight provides you with a one-stop-shop for art and crafts. Our collection of work is from over 100 artists based in and around the evocative town of Glastonbury in Somerset. This provides an eclectic mix from which to choose artworks to enhance your working environment. In addition to a selection of art from the gallery, work can also be commissioned to your specification. We can help you with your selection and provide hanging / arrangement advice to suit your requirements.
Schemes available
Artwork Rental: For corporate clients, where artwork provides colour and inspiration in the working environment. We supply work on a monthly rental basis. Artwork can be replaced after a suitable period as required. Under the scheme artwork supplied can also be purchased.
The artwork rental scheme charges typically £22 + VAT per artwork per month, based on a picture value of approx £750. The normal minimum rental period is 12 months with work changed on a maximum of every four months. Artwork can be purchased at any time during the rental period.
Galleryeight will raise invoices for rental and purchase amounts and all payments must be made to Galleryeight within 7 days. An upfront security deposit will be required and all rental payments must be made one month in advance. Specific details will be discussed in relation to your particular requirements.
Artwork for retail: For alternative retail outlets, where artwork provided is for sale, we provide an agency service. For low value items and prints (up to £150), we provide work on a wholesale basis.
Retail Rental & Sale: Higher value items are made available through our retail rental scheme. The scheme charges a nominal monthly rental fee per artwork (£15 on a £750 piece), that is deductible from the wholesale price on the sale of the work.
- Work is provided at the discretion of the artist and the particular situation.
- Artwork will remain in situ for a maximum of three months before being returned to Galleryeight if unsold. 3 months rental is payable in advance.
- Galleryeight reserves the right to take a returnable deposit for all works taken on a Retail Rental basis.
- Galleryeight will set the wholesale price required for the artwork - the seller must not charge less than this amount for the picture.
- Galleryeight must be notified immediately of any sale made. Galleryeight will invoice seller and payment of this invoice must be made to Galleryeight within 7 days otherwise the agreement shall cease and all items must be returned to Galleryeight.
General
All services require the agreement of the artist(s) involved and provide them either with an income (in the case of the rental scheme) or a lump sum from the sale of their artwork.
With all schemes, you will be required to insure the artworks.
The artworks supplied by Galleryeight remain the property of Galleryeight and the artists until they have been paid for in full.
Once the term of the agreement is set, either party can terminate this with one month’s notice in writing. On termination of the agreement, all works must be returned to Galleryeight within 24 hours.
